Saturday 23rd of March was the day, RGDA fighters from the UK and Romania enter MMA fights in their respective countries.

With a two hour time difference, Romanian fighter Ferid Ibrahim of Absoluto RGDA entered the All Promoters Challange with their head instructor, Tudor Mihaita and UK head instrustructor Eddie Kone in his corner.

In his debut fight, the two fighters traded some standing blows before Ibrahim secured the takedown. The fight then progressed quickly with Ibrahim on top, securing the mount and then transitioning to an armbar.

Congratulations Ferid, 1-0 my friend.

Back in the UK, Sean Folan and a small team or cornermen travelled to Portsmouth for Grant Waterman's Full Contact Fight Night 5 event.

The 65.8KG amateur fight was the opening bout of the night and had Folan looking for his second win against Elite fighter Kaan Senser.

Sean ate an early leg kick and then took Senser down and dominated him on the ground, passing to side mount and then punishing his opponent with knees, punches and shoulder slams. Towards the end of the round, Sean began cranking on a keylock that saw Kaan's arm in a very unnatural angle. Saved by the bell, the fight was going into the second round.

Considering Sean's dominance on the ground in the first round, it was surprising to see Kaan attempt a takedown from the off. Sean scuffs the shoot and passes to mount. Sean rains down punches onto his opponent, forcing Kaan to give up his back, a few more well placed punches later and Sean secures a rear naked choke and gets the submission for his second amateur MMA win.

Well done Sean, keep up the hard training, it shows when your in the ring!
